Ingredients
For the Casserole:
- 1½ pounds thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin work best)
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasoning Mix:
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned and no longer pink. Season with salt and black pepper as it cooks. Once done, remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
In the same skillet, add the onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5–7 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and lightly caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and half of the provolone and mozzarella. Mix until creamy and well combined.
In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to create your seasoning blend.
To assemble the casserole, spread half of the cooked beef evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the seasoning mix. Add the sautéed vegetables in an even layer over the beef.
Spread the creamy cheese mixture over the vegetables. Top with the remaining beef and sprinkle the rest of the seasoning mix on top. Finish by sprinkling the remaining provolone and mozzarella cheese over everything.
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot, bubbly, and the cheese on top is melted and lightly golden.
Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving. Scoop, serve hot, and enjoy every cheesy, savory bite.
This Philly Cheese Steak Casserole delivers all the bold, classic flavors of a cheesesteak in an easy, comforting baked dish that everyone will love.
Enjoy!
